Define the commercial formula before comparing price

Bonito seasoning powder is normally a compound soup-stock seasoning rather than pure bonito. A useful quotation brief states the required fish-forward flavour, intended application and any benchmark sample.

Ask for the complete ingredient list in legal label order, the bonito species and content, flavour enhancers, carriers and processing aids. Ambiguous marketplace ingredient names must be resolved before sample or artwork approval.

Set measurable quality and sensory controls

The supplied reference lists moisture at no more than 5.0%, pH of 6.6–6.7 and salinity of 30.9–36.9%. These values become useful only when the final specification states the sampling and test method.

Approve colour, granulation, free-flowing condition, fish aroma, salt intensity and prepared-broth performance against a retained sample. Record the addition rate used for the tasting test.

Review fish allergens and destination labels

A formula containing bonito contains fish. Confirm the fish name used on the destination-market label and obtain the selected facility's cross-contact statement for other relevant allergens.

The reference program uses 500 g per bag, two bags per box and ten boxes per carton, equal to 10 kg net. Confirm film structure, resealing method, inner-box dimensions, carton dimensions and gross carton weight.

Add lot coding, pallet pattern, loading quantity and destination marks before freight comparison. Alternative packs require a fresh shelf-life and commercial feasibility review.

Close the quotation with samples and documents

The reference lead time is 25–30 days after the agreed deposit and the reference shelf life is 12 months. Both values must be reconfirmed for the selected formula, packaging and production schedule.
