What is frozen seasoned seaweed salad?
Frozen seasoned seaweed salad is a prepared seaweed side dish commonly marketed as hiyashi wakame or chuka wakame. It is supplied frozen and is typically thawed for use in sushi restaurants, poke menus, buffets and prepared-food counters.
The commercial identity should state the selected seaweed composition, cut, dressing and permitted inclusions. Similar-looking products can differ materially in sweetness, acidity, sesame content, texture and color.
Approve formula, allergens and sensory targets
Request the complete ingredient statement and allergen declaration from the selected SKU label. Sesame, soy, wheat or other allergens may be present depending on the dressing, so they should not be inferred from a generic product name.
Compare samples for color, strand size, bite, sweetness, acidity, sesame aroma and dressing distribution. Record the approved sample reference together with any measurable acceptance points.
Define the frozen handling program
A reference program may specify frozen storage at or below -18°C and a shelf life of up to 24 months, but both values must be confirmed against the final packaging and approved label.
Ask the supplier for the approved thawing method, after-thaw storage condition and usable period. Validate these instructions in the intended foodservice or retail workflow rather than assuming one rule applies to every formulation.
Confirm packing and shipment data
Define net weight per bag, bags per carton, carton dimensions, net and gross carton weight, pallet pattern and labeling requirements. Remove placeholder values such as zero weight or zero volume from the commercial specification.
Frozen products require a compatible logistics plan. Confirm loading temperature, transport condition, receiving checks and responsibility for temperature records before shipment.
Verify certificates and the approved factory
Reference listings may mention ISO 22000, HACCP or halal programs. Treat these as leads for verification, not automatic product claims. Obtain current documents and confirm that their holder, site, scope and validity cover the selected product and manufacturing facility.
Keep the quotation, final specification, label artwork, approved sample and relevant documents under one SKU reference so repeat orders can be compared consistently.
